Looking forward to the coupon deals this week. So far this month I have spent $200 on groceries. Thats feeding 5 of us here and some hungry young guys every now and then. Not bad! I shouldnt need to spend much more, so thats not bad.. Or is it. What does everyone spend on groceries every month?

I bought a Dawn Dishsoap Direct Foam pump thing for the dispenser. They were on sale and I got it for lik $1.50 or something with a Q. I ran out of it. Bought another regular Dawn, because those werent on sale again and Im not paying like $4 for dishsoap. I LOVE the foam dispenser, it stays neat and doesnt look all huge and hideous on my sink counter. I hate clutter and usually store dishsoap under the sink, but this cute little thing stays on top of the sink. I was bummed it was gone.

I had an idea.

I filled the direct foam with the new Dawn dishsoap HALF full only. Then the rest of the way with tap water. It works! It is another bottle full of Dawn dishsoap Foam style! Dont ask why I am so excited about this but I am. Only fill it half way though or it wont work, it will be too thick to go thru the dispenser. This is a good way to still be able to buy the good stuff but make it last longer. Try it!

Calendar

I got my shutterfly calendar today! Its beautiful! The print quality is better than any prints of the pictures I have gotten anywhere! So crisp and the paper is a pretty matte finish. I am a paper finish snob and HATE glossy paper so it made me so happy! As frugal as I am, I would spend $19.99 on these calendars. I think you can usually find a deal on them at least 25% off and hopefully free shipping but everyone is getting these next year for Christmas! I love them!!! And I entered in all of our special dates, anniversaries and Birthdays. Including Ernies 40th. That was weird to read!! Just wanted to let everyone know its here and its beautiful. I reccommend anyone getting one, even at full price, you wouldnt be dissapointed. -S

Leapfrog

So, Rees tore his pen off his leapster. Nice, huh? We have it tied in a knot so we dont lose it, but I called tonight for a replacement. They were so helpful! I got a replacement pen for $3 shipped. AND While I was on hold I heard a recording about THIS RECALL. If you bought a Didj recharging system, (whch we did, when we got Brad his Didj) its being recalled if there is a #30676 on the back, yours is being recalled. So.. They are sending us a package to send it back to them for free. And they will send us a check for $45 with a FREE game certificate in it for the hassle! Great part of it is, it came with an A/C adapter, which we get to keep. So it can still be charged! It was just the dock that was recalled. Im thankful ours isnt one yet that has caused burns on childrens hands (i guess it gets too hot.) Keep up with Leapfrog Recalls HERE..

Soy Joy at CVS

Ok, these were free after ECB’s so I got 2 boxes. They are soy but believe me, there is no ‘Joy’ in these bars. Dont waste your money, they are pretty bad and leave quite an aftertaste. I did find out (thanks q-girl!) that if an item is buy 1 get 1 free at CVS, you can use 2 Q’s on these just like at Publix!! Which is totally cool! I had killer q’s for colgate and colgate toothbrushes. They were practically free. Tide was pretty good there, a huge one for $7.77  (great number too!!) and kleenexm granola bras. i spent just under $20 for a lot of stuff. 

Then i had to run into krogers real quick, the horizon chocolate milk singles are on sale so you can use the Q that was in this weeks paper for those to be pretty cheap. Our organic milk was half off, with an expiration date still 3 days away! and I got about 6 things of cottonelle for free. My order still came to $17 which was too high! It was $39 before q’s. But I didnt want to spend that much. 

On a completely different note. I am listing a friend’s apartment (Bro Harrison for those of you who know him) on craigslist tonight. There is a good possibility not many people know its been for rent. (Vacant for a few months if i remember correctly and i had no idea myself.) So if you know of anyone who would need an apartment, let me know. Its a 1 bedroom studio. So stinking cute. Before I was married, or even while married before we had kids, we could have lived there and loved it. Its $595 a month for everything (including internet and cable!.)  Even washer and dryer access. The property is so beautiful. If you dont know anyone, pray it rents out for him with a good person to be living there.  I will be posting a link to it so you can share it or look at it yourself. thanks!
